Affordable Housing for young people

The LHA are a charity providing high quality affordable accommodation for young people. Designed during lockdown, with new ways of working and learning coupled with the necessity for external space becoming more explicit,  the proposals for 107 en-suite rooms, communal facilities and café, re-assessed from first principles what is required of communal living. Room formats were re-arranged to deliver more usable space within the same area, internal communal spaces were coupled with external amenity spaces and further break-out spaces were incorporated to allow residents more flexibility as to where and when they could study and work.

The project was led by the RWA team whilst working at MJP Architects.
